Description

The Vice President Customs & Trade Compliance will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and internal policies. This leadership position will oversee compliance management across various departments, including Customs brokerage, logistics, supply chain, to name a few. The primary focus will be on the day to day Customs clearance procedures and reporting.
Customs brokers license required for this fast growing part of an e-commerce 3PL company based in DFW with offices in various other large cities in the US. The primary focus is on e-commerce, however the company provides services to clients with all type of Customs entries and clearances.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed Customs Broker
Experience in e-commerce , informal/formal entry process a plus
Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, tariffs and trade compliance
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Familiar with brokerage platforms such as Descartes and NetChb
Supervisory experience a plus
Superior interpersonal skills
Service oriented and willing to be flexible in work schedule
Some travel

EDUCATION:

Industry related degree and/or certification a plus but not mandatory

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Customs department.
Empower and mentor co-workers/employees to excel and make positive decisions for a rewarding future and career.
Interact with upper management regarding all activities related to the clearance of cargo and the operations of the CFS stations.
Audit Customs entries for accuracy.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Represent the company with various local and national CBP and other government officials.
Attend meetings, conferences and training classes to stay abreast of changes in import laws and regulations. Maintain current standing with the required continuing education requirements with CBP.
Advise customers on import restrictions, tariff changes, insurance requirements, quotas and other Customs related matters.
Onboard new clients with POA, bond, ACH and pricing.
Maintain up to date compliance manuals and SOP’s for every client.
Hire, train and onboard new employees.
Work closely with company IT teams to ensure all systems are updated to adhere to the ever changing Customs environment.
