We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President/Director Head of Investor Relations to lead our investor engagement and capital markets communication efforts. As a key representative of our space and defense technology company, you will be responsible for shaping how the investment community understands our complex, long-term value proposition. This role requires a deep understanding of the intersection of advanced technology, national defense priorities, and capital markets. This position is ideal for a high-credibility communicator with strong financial acumen, a background in high-tech or government-related industries, and the ability to build confidence with both institutional investors and internal leadership.
Responsibilities

Investor Communication & Strategy

• Develop and execute a compelling investor relations strategy that aligns with the company’s long-term vision in space and defense technologies.
• Craft clear and compliant messaging around our multi-year contracts, R&D investments, product milestones, and government program wins.
• Prepare quarterly earnings materials including scripts, presentations, Q&A, and supplemental disclosures for investor calls and filings.

Capital Markets Engagement

• Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional investors, analysts, and rating agencies, educating them on our market, growth drivers, and differentiated capabilities.
• Organize investor roadshows, conferences, and capital markets days; coordinate meetings with executive leadership as needed.
• Monitor stock performance, market sentiment, and peer activity, and deliver actionable insights to the C-suite and Board.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Finance, Strategy, Legal, Government Affairs, and Engineering teams to ensure investor-facing materials accurately reflect program performance and milestones.
• Collaborate on the development of Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) and shareholder letters in 10-K and 10-Q filings.

Market Intelligence & Investor Feedback

• Track industry trends in defense spending, aerospace innovation, and global security dynamics to inform IR strategy.
• Analyze sell-side models, consensus estimates, and investor feedback to refine company messaging and set appropriate expectations.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Awareness

• Ensure all investor communications comply with SEC, GAAP, and Reg FD requirements.
• Advise leadership on disclosure policies, reputational risk, and evolving shareholder activism dynamics relevant to defense contractors and dual-use tech firms.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, or corporate finance, ideally within the aerospace, defense, or advanced technology sectors.
• Deep understanding of capital markets and regulatory reporting for publicly traded companies.
• Strong grasp of government procurement cycles, DoD contracts, classified project communications (where applicable), and the long-term innovation cycle.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to distill complex technical information into clear investor narratives.
• Executive presence with the ability to build trust across stakeholders — from analysts to generals to board members.
• U.S. citizenship required; active or prior security clearance a plus but not required.
