POSITION SUMMARY

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Build trusting and collaborative work relationships with hospital leadership, support services leadership, and enterprise leadership team (ELT) to develop, implement and align operational initiatives in support of Memorial Health strategic goals and direction.
  • Promote the identification, adoption and implementation of best practices and innovative technologies to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Leads the timely and efficient development and implementation of operational plans including standardized workflows, policies and protocols across hospitals to ensure consistency in care delivery and operational effectiveness, monitors and reports on progress to goals.
  • Provides expert advisory and consultation to hospital leadership teams, coordinating with clinical and administrative leaders to integrate initiatives into daily operations.
  • Engages key hospital and support operations stakeholders to gain buy-in and support for initiatives; develops and implements change management strategies to facilitate adoption of new processes, technologies and best practices.
  • Uses data and analytics to evaluate cross-hospital performance and drives performance improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance across hospitals.
  • Ensure operational initiatives are compliant with regulatory, quality and safety standards.

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, management or related field required.

KNOWLEDGE & WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or health system operations required.
  • Experience across the continuum of hospital operations including perspective payment system and critical access hospitals or rural hospital setting preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and background in healthcare operations, regulations and compliance.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning: Expertise in shaping and overseeing strategic plans to align with the needs of the system and community market. Highly proficient in understanding health care trends and best practices, the competitive landscape, and leveraging innovation to translate strategies into action.
  • Healthcare Operations Management: Deep understanding of hospital operations, including clinical service delivery, patient care workflows and administrative processes. Expertise in coordinating operations within and across hospitals. Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma) to make continuous improvements to operational efficiency.
  • Financial Management: Highly proficient in hospital finances, including budgeting, cost control, revenue cycle and capital planning. Skilled at driving financial performance while maintaining investments in patent care improvements.
  • Compliance and Accreditation: Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards to ensure compliance within and across hospitals. Experience in managing regulatory site visits and implementing corrective actions to ensure all accreditation standards are met.
  • Driving Change: Acts as a champion for fostering system-wide transformation initiatives which align with the system’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Executive Leadership and Talent Management: Strong executive presence and leadership skills to build high performing teams, fostering collaboration within and across hospitals, and promoting a culture of accountability. Attracts, retains and develops administrative and clinical staff while fostering high levels of engagement.
