The Role
The Vice President, Finance role is focused on providing leadership and oversight to the extensive financial services and strategy across the organization, leading financial strategy to drive growth, operational efficiency, and long term company value. . This is a critical leadership and business advisory role and this position is a key member of the Executive team and is the most senior financial employee at the company. The Vice President, Finance will be a true business partner and trusted advisor heavily involved in all aspects of the overall business with responsibility for developing, implementing and monitoring financial strategies, policies, procedures and systems including all accounting, internal planning and control, financial reporting and corporate budgeting. You will build a disciplined and strategically focused finance function and will provide the leadership and drive required to support the Executive team in making the right decisions that mitigate risk and improve financial management and the overall performance of the organization. You will also be responsible for providing direct leadership to a cross-functional finance team to effectively support the organization’s financial objectives. This is an Executive-level position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Duties

  • Provide leadership for strategic business planning working closely with the Executive team.
  • Engage where required with the Board of Directors, investors and strategic partners.
  • Oversee detailed strategic and operational financial analyses.
  • Develop and implement procedures and systems for the financial control of the company.
  • Oversee and manage business development activities, ensuring that business targets are met.
  • Develop and coordinate all relationships with financial institutions.
  • Lead governance, controls, and compliance frameworks aligned to evolving regulations and industry standards.
  • Lead the organization’s enterprise risk management program, proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, compliance, financial, and reputational risks to safeguard long-term stability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary finance policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of long-term financial plans, annual financial budgets, quarterly and monthly operating reports, and financial statements.
  • Work closely with the Executive team to review sales forecasts, revenue recognition, and cash flow models.
  • Oversee & develop internal audit and oversee external year-end review.
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning.
  • Develop and direct the implementation of a solid business development plan and its various subsidiaries.
  • Provide leadership, direction and management of the finance team.
  • Other projects, duties and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation or equivalent preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in an accounting/finance management role.
  • Experience with growth-stage or transformational change (e.g. scaling organizations or leading through IPO, acquisitions)
  • Experience managing a team of finance professionals.
  • Experience with equity/debt financing, investor presentations, and shareholder communications.
  • Proficiency in modern ERP and finance management platforms (e.g. Sage 50, Zuora)
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
  • Exemplary analytical thinking, decision-making and math skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail when multitasking.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to growth and change.
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Payroll experience is a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and legislation.

Performance Package
Salary: $120,000-$175,000/year
The salary range listed is for a Canadian employee. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to salary, eligible AutoVerify employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
