The impact you'll make: The Vice President, Finance is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing the Company’s financial stewardship, operational finance, and financial planning & analysis. Reporting to the CFO, this role provides strategic and operational leadership across three core financial pillars: Controllership, Financial Services, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). The VP, Finance plays a critical role in strengthening financial discipline as the company scales an omnichannel consumer business across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels in North America. The role ensures strong financial governance, scalable processes, and clear financial insight to support profitable growth. Operating within an entrepreneurial environment, the VP, Finance combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, partnering closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to improve profitability, strengthen financial planning, and deepen insight into unit economics across the business. The VP, Finance acts as the CFO’s primary delegate across day-to-day finance leadership and serves as a key representative of Finance in executive-level and Board-adjacent discussions. The role also plays a key part in scaling the finance organization, systems, and processes to support the company’s next phase of growth. All Saje Team Members are responsible for contributing to Saje’s culture and maintaining a positive environment for themselves and their peers. What you'll do: Financial Leadership & Strategy Act as a trusted thought partner to the CFO and executive leadership team on financial strategy, business performance, and key trade-off decisions. Translate corporate strategy into financial plans, targets, and operating frameworks. Provide data-driven insights that support growth initiatives, capital allocation decisions, and margin improvement. Strengthen financial discipline across the organization to support profitable scaling. Department Leadership Directly manage and mentor the Controller, Manager of Financial Services, and Sr. Manager of FP&A. Lead and develop a growing finance organization including accountants, coordinators, specialists, and analysts. Evolve the finance team structure and capabilities in line with increasing business complexity. Establish clear accountability, performance standards, and development plans across finance functions. Build bench strength and succession planning within the finance organization. Profitability & EBITDA Discipline Own the financial discipline required to deliver sustainable EBITDA improvement. Partner with executive leadership to evaluate growth investments, pricing decisions, and cost structures, ensuring capital is deployed against the highest-return opportunities. Support leadership in evaluating trade-offs between growth initiatives and profitability. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Own company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes. Build and strengthen FP&A capabilities to support a scaling $100M+ business. Establish forecast accuracy, rigor, and credibility as a core management discipline. Ensure the FP&A team delivers actionable insights, scenario modeling, and data-driven recommendations to leadership. Elevate financial storytelling and reporting for executive and Board-level discussions. Unit Economics & Growth Analytics Partner closely with Marketing, Retail, and E-commerce leaders to deepen the understanding of growth economics. Key areas of focus include: Customer acquisition cost (CAC) Customer lifetime value (LTV) Contribution margin by channel Marketing ROI Retail store productivity Inventory efficiency and working capital management Ensure unit economics analysis directly informs investment decisions, growth prioritization, and performance management. Controllership & Accounting Oversight Provide executive oversight of accounting operations through the Controller. Ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient close processes, and strong internal controls. Maintain compliance with accounting standards and support audit readiness. Continuously improve accounting policies, documentation, and financial governance as the company scales. Financial Services & Operational Finance Oversee transactional finance activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial services functions. Guide the Manager of Financial Services in improving operational efficiency and internal service levels. Drive process optimization, automation, and scalability across finance operations. Cross-Functional Partnership Act as a strategic partner to leaders across Operations, Retail, E-commerce, Supply Chain, IT, and People & Culture. Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights that support decision-making across the organization. Support enterprise initiatives including systems implementations, process transformation, and improvements in data maturity. Decision Ownership & Authority Own company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management. Accountable for financial reporting quality, internal controls, and audit readiness. Hold hiring, performance management, and organizational design authority within the Finance function. We'd love to hear from you if you have: CPA designation required. 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership of managers and multi-disciplinary finance teams. Strong experience across FP&A, controllership, and operational finance. Experience supporting an omnichannel consumer business (retail stores, e-commerce, and wholesale) strongly preferred. Experience building and scaling finance teams and processes in a growth-oriented organization. Experience working in entrepreneurial or high-growth environments. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (or similar ERP systems) is an asset. Key Competencies Strategic and analytical mindset with strong business acumen.
