As a strategic people partner, the VP of HR will help build the infrastructure, systems, and support programs that strengthen our team experience, enable cross-functional collaboration, and reinforce the culture that drives our mission-focused work.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior/executive role
  • Proven track record in HR operations: compliance, performance, benefits, employee relations, and talent acquisition
  • Experience in a fast-paced, client-driven agency or similar environment strongly preferred
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with senior leaders across the business
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred

Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Lead the full talent lifecycle - from attracting and sourcing candidates to interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
  • Partner with hiring managers to define roles and run a structured, equitable selection process that supports our values and culture
  • Ensure new employees are effectively onboarded and set up for success from day one
  • Oversee performance management systems, including feedback cycles and performance improvement processes
  • Design and maintain clear, equitable career paths and role expectations that support growth, development, and internal consistency across teams
  • Provide tools and structure to support manager development, team alignment, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Support change management initiatives, including leadership transitions and organizational updates

Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including ACA, EEOC, FMLA, and workers’ compensation
  • Maintain and update employee policies, handbooks, and leave administration processes
  • Manage employee relations with professionalism and discretion, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance challenges
  • Support leaders through sensitive issues such as terminations and transitions

  • Oversee open enrollment and ensure compliance with all benefit-related regulations
  • Collaborate with Finance to align compensation models with organizational and team needs

  • Plan team events and feedback loops that reinforce inclusion, belonging, and morale
