DESCRIPTIVE SUMMARY The VP of Human Resources is a strategic and operational leader responsible for human resources at the credit union. This role oversees and leads core HR disciplines including talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee relations, benefits and compensation, and HR operations and analytics. The VP works closely with senior leadership to ensure HR initiatives align with organizational goals and foster a caring, high-performing, and engaged team. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Deliver and develop HR strategies that support the Credit Union's growth and culture 2. Work closely with senior leadership on workforce planning, organizational design and effectiveness, and talent development. 3. Lead and execute talent acquisition strategies, including workforce planning, recruiting processes, vendor partnerships, and onboarding practices to meet organizational talent needs. 4. Lead talent management function to oversee career pathing, succession planning, and long-term leadership development. 5. Partner with leaders to develop training programs that meet current business needs and anticipate future needs. 6. Oversee employee relations activities, including performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement activities. 7. Ensure alignment of talent strategies with the credit union's long-term business goals. 8. Ensure a comprehensive and competitive compensation and benefits practice aligned with market benchmarks that drive performance and support retention. 9. Oversee governance, compliance, and efficiency in payroll and benefits administration. 10. Oversee HRIS systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance. 11. Use analytics and reporting to identify trends and inform data-driven decision across the Credit Union. 12. Serves as the Plan Administration for IC Federal Credit Union 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan and a member of ICFCU  401(k) and Profit Sharing Committee.    13. Prepare annual salary and operating budgets for HR and Training departments. 14. Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines. 15. Ensures all human resource programs comply with State and Federal regulations. 16. Represents Human Resources as a leader for the Credit Union’s BCP Plan. Attends meetings and trains HR staff annually. 17. Attend pertinent HR meetings, Seminar and Training as needed. 18. Maintains highest level of confidentiality due to exposure to highly sensitive and confidential matters.   19. Responsible for the role of the Safe Act Officer. 20. The level of support for co-workers as well as outside members, clients, etc. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (Education, Work Experience, Industry Knowledge) * Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or related field; or combination of HR certification, advanced training, or specialized coursework and relevant professional experience. * 10 plus years of broad, progressive responsibility in a professional HR role with at least two (3-5) years in a management or supervisory role. * Strong organizational, team member service, problem solving, and communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ethical mindset. * Demonstrated ability to successfully develop, motivate and lead high performing teams through periods of growth and change. * Basic computer and technology skills. Must be adept in use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and HR/HRIS applications. * Extensive knowledge of HR policies and systems. * PHR or SHRM-CP certification required (or ability to obtain within 1 year). PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, prolonged sitting, repetitive hand motions, extensive telephone use, frequent standing and walking, occasional driving, occasional bending and twisting at the wrist, occasional reaching above shoulder, and occasional pushing/pulling, lifting up to 25 pounds.
