Job Summary The Vice President (VP) of Human Resources (HR) Operations is a strategic and operational HR leader responsible for overseeing core HR functions that drive operational excellence. This role leads teams across payroll, benefits and total rewards, executive and broad-based compensation, deferred compensation, HR analytics, and employee relations. The VP of HR Operations ensures these functions are strategically aligned, compliant, and optimized to support business objectives and enhance the employee experience. The VP of HR Operations partners closely with senior leadership to ensure HR operations align with business goals, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Essential Functions Strategic Leadership & Oversight Lead and evolve HR operations strategy to improve efficiencies and enhance the employee experience. Oversee and improve end-to-end HR processes, such as payroll and benefits administration, to ensure efficiency and compliance. Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on compensation, total rewards, and employee relations matters. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws across all HR operational areas. Establish and maintain company policies and procedures in compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. Build and lead a data-driven HR analytics function to deliver insights on workforce trends, turnover, and employee engagement. Lead and champion Camden’s culture and values with a people-first focus. Compensation & Total Rewards Lead the design, implementation, and governance of compensation programs, including base pay, incentive plans, equity programs, executive compensation and deferred compensation plans; ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements. Responsible for the strategic planning, design, and administration of employee benefit programs. Oversees industry benchmarking, Request for Proposal (RFP) process, selection of providers, communication of changes, and ensures compliance and cost containment while offering a total rewards package that meets employee needs. Conduct market benchmarking, pay equity analysis, and compensation modeling to support talent acquisition and retention strategies. Direct multi-state payroll strategy and operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing across all employee groups and in compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and labor laws. Benefits Administration Oversee the strategy, design, and administration of health, welfare, retirement, wellness programs, and other perks and benefits. Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service-level agreements. Ensure benefits programs are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with employee needs and organizational goals. Employee Relations Provide strategic oversight of employee relations policies, investigations, and conflict resolution processes. Ensure consistent and fair application of policies and practices across the organization. Oversee resolution of sensitive employee matters, employment-related litigation, and risk mitigation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Law, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, SHRM-SCP, CEBS) preferred. 12+ years of relevant experience that contributes to successful leadership of multiple HR functions. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Experience managing large-scale HR projects and leading cross-functional teams. High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a thorough knowledge of HR systems, employment law, and data analysis.
