Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of six years total experience with a minimum of three years in Alternative Investments or Asset Management (Investment Banking or Capital Markets experience would be considered if the candidate can show a deep passion and understanding in Alternatives).
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field; MBA, CAIA or CFA is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of private markets industry, financial products, investment strategies, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite (requires very strong PowerPoint and Excel skills as the position requires to be hands on in building pitch decks, research, database and marketing materials), and other relevant software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, and industry partners.
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (~15%)
  • Proficiency in a foreign language such as French, Mandarin, Cantonese, etc. is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of sales strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.
  • Distribution Management: Support the management of distribution channels effectively to ensure broad market penetration and maximize sales opportunities in your region.
  • Investor Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential investors, addressing their inquiries and needs promptly and professionally.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the firm’s products and services to effectively articulate value propositions to clients and investors.
  • Pitch Development: Responsible to create compelling pitch materials and presentations tailored to specific client needs and preferences. Develop and maintain database of materials such as investor presentations, fact sheets, due diligence materials and internal communications;
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance metrics, track client engagement, and generate regular monthly and quarterly reports for investors and internal management.
  • Events and Conferences Participation: Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and seminars to network with key stakeholders and promote brand visibility.
  • Relationship nurturing: Maintain strong relationships with BMO GAM Wholesalers, Internal Sales Wholesalers, external partners, industry players, including institutional investors, family offices, and financial advisors.
  • Key point of contact for the Alternative Distribution team in responding to wholesaler, investment advisor/counsellor, or end client queries. Respond to client queries related to published content and coordinate internally to provide high-quality, timely responses;
  • Client Servicing: Provide exceptional client service throughout the sales cycle, from initial contact to post-sale support and relationship management.
  • CRM Management Leadership: Utilize available CRM systems effectively to track interactions, manage client data, and generate actionable insights for business development.
  • Feedback Implementation: Use client and investor feedback to drive product and service improvements, enhancing overall client satisfaction and retention.
  • Compliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in all sales and investor relations activities.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with client relationships, investments, and market developments to protect the firm’s interests.
  • Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all interactions with clients, investors, and colleagues.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
