The Role: We are seeking a hands-on VP Legal to manage a wide range of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. This role will support our marketplace, commercial partnerships, product, marketing, and operations, with a focus on practical, business-oriented advice in a fast-moving environment. Key Responsibilities Ticket Marketplace Legal Strategy and Compliance Regulatory Counseling: Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, including ticketing and resale regulations, consumer protection rules, and pricing transparency. Product Review: Review user flows to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with relevant regulations. Marketing Review: Review and approve marketing claims, promotional materials, press releases, and other consumer-facing materials. Privacy Compliance: Advise on data privacy and security requirements and help implement privacy-by-design practices with product and engineering. Intellectual Property. Manage IP strategy, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and licensing. Corporate Governance Advise the Board and executive team on governance best practices. Working closely with outside counsel, prepare and manage corporate records, board resolutions, and shareholder matters. Commercial Contracts Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including with vendors and strategic partners. Employment Partner closely with HR on employee relations, internal investigations, and compliance initiatives. Risk Management & Litigation Identify legal and regulatory risks across the business and propose practical mitigation strategies. Manage pre-litigation disputes with customers, partners, and vendors; oversee outside counsel for any litigation or regulatory inquiries. Build and manage internal legal and compliance workflows, processes, and documentation. Our Ideal Candidate Has: Law degree and an active license to practice in a relevant jurisdiction. 10+ years of experience, including both law firm and in-house roles, at technology, e-commerce, or marketplace companies. Preference for candidates who have been an early legal hire in a growth-stage company. Proven ability to work independently and manage legal matters from strategy to execution. Experience counseling product, marketing and data teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong business acumen, excellent communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. At Gametime pay ranges are subject to change and assigned to a job based on specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
