As a part of the Mainframe Development job family, this role involves designing, developing, and implementing mainframe applications that align with BNY's principles of innovation and service excellence. The role demands a deep understanding of software engineering practices within a mainframe environment to drive technological advancements and operational improvements. **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:** - Lead the design and development of mainframe applications by utilizing advanced engineering practices to enhance system performance and reliability. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. - Oversee the implementation of mainframe solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and BNY's quality assurance protocols. - Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. - Conduct system performance assessments and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and scalability. - Engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting activities to address and resolve complex technical issues promptly. **EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Advanced certifications in mainframe technologies are preferred. **EXPERIENCE:** - Typically 5-9 years of experience. **SKILLS:** - Proficiency in mainframe programming languages and tools. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex system challenges. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
