    Position Summary

The VP of Advancement of Advancement is responsible for leading and implementing the fundraising and development strategy for Cristo Rey Richmond High School. This position plays a critical role in advancing the school’s mission by cultivating donor relationships, securing financial support, overseeing all development activities and supervising the marketing communications/public relations programs of the school. The VP of Advancement of Advancement reports to the President and works closely with the school leadership team and Board of VP of Advancements.What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the school’s annual and long-term financial goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Lead donor prospecting research efforts.
  • Oversee all aspects of donor stewardship, including acknowledgments, reporting, and engagement activities.
  • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events, including annual galas, donor receptions, and community outreach events.
  • Research and write grant proposals to secure funding from private and public sources.
  • Manage donor databases and ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the President, Board of VP of Advancements, and Advancement Committee to identify and solicit major gifts.
  • Develop marketing and communication materials to support fundraising efforts.
  • Coordinate alumni engagement and giving programs.
  • Supervise Advancement staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and projections for school leadership and the Board.
  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate Work Study team to secure Angel Funders for work study jobs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in fundraising.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:Directly oversee and supervise all staff in the Advancement Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of students and families.
· Outstanding interpersonal and public relations skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community.
· Ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
· Ability to organize, prioritize, schedule, and complete job tasks effectively and accurately.
· Knowledge and implementation of relevant instructional technology including by not limited to the Google suite.
· Ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for faith-based college preparatory education.
· Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.

· Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.

  • Superior communication skills, the ability to interact confidently and effectively with school staff, students, donors, volunteers, and school administration.
  • Ability to work on a team that requires humility, integrity, tolerance, a desire for continuous improvement and openness to feedback.

WHO YOU ARE· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.· Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or related field.· Proven track record of securing major gifts and managing donor relationships.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Strong organizational and project management abilities.· Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.· Commitment to the mission and values of Cristo Rey Richmond High School and the Cristo Rey Network.
