POSITION SUMMARY The Vice President of Casino Operations will serve as a strategic partner and key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day casino operations as well as the strategic direction for the property. Exercises direct operational control over the management of gaming activities consistent with state regulations and company policies. This position is responsible for providing a high level of guest service and promoting a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for our guests and team members. Participates with the Executive Management Team in developing strategic and tactical plans to support property objectives. Develops operational plans to support both short-term and long-term financial objectives. Develops and presents requests for capital to support operational objectives. Develops and manages departmental expense budget. Works with IGB in maintaining the integrity of the Casino Rules and Regulations. Directs the selection, purchase/lease, placement, and utilization of all gaming devices to ensure achievement of operational and financial objectives. Develops and implements operational policies and procedures that are consistent with state gaming rules and regulations and Internal Controls. Supervises Management and Supervisory staff to ensure optimum operating efficiencies and appropriate staffing of the casino. Supports and complies with company policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and internal controls applicable to the Casino Operations division. Team members may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job descriptions where, in the company’s judgment, it is necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or improved guest service. Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four-year college or university, and/or 7 or more years of experience in Casino Operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Director-level experience in Table Games and Slot Operations required. Experience with CAD for casino layouts. Must understand and speak the English language. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for staff development and training programs. Responsible for the rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement. Evaluates team members within the department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance. Determines recommendations for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning, and directing work) to meet business needs. Determines work procedures and expedites workflow. Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling). LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with executives, visitors, fellow employees, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent. COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient skills in using Microsoft Office products, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Lotus Organizer, and be comfortable searching and retrieving information from the Internet. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
