Arcadia focuses on high-quality, design-driven custom homes within WindRiver and has also completed select projects supporting Ayres Vacation Rental (AVR), with potential for continued expansion. The company is intentionally positioned to scale while maintaining exceptional standards of craftsmanship, efficiency, and client experience. Position Overview The Vice President of Construction is Arcadia Builders’ senior construction leader, responsible for building and scaling the company’s construction program. This hands-on executive oversees projects while establishing the systems, team, and operational framework needed for sustainable growth. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial construction leader eager to help build a growing organization from the ground up! Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Program Development Lead Arcadia Builders’ construction strategy and execution. Develop scalable systems, workflows, and operating standards. Establish procedures for pre-construction, construction, quality control, and close-out. Partner with ownership and WindRiver leadership to align operations with broader goals. Team & Project Oversight Build, lead, and mentor the construction team as the company grows. Define roles, reporting structures, and performance expectations. Oversee all projects from concept through completion, including WindRiver custom homes and select AVR projects. Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and design standards. Financial, Operational, & Stakeholder Management Manage construction budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and job costing. Improve operational efficiency while maintaining quality and safety. Build and manage relationships with subcontractors, vendors, design partners, and inspectors. Serve as a senior point of contact for homeowners and internal stakeholders. Represent Arcadia Builders professionally within the WindRiver community and beyond. Safety, Compliance, & Quality Champion job-site safety and regulatory compliance. Implement quality standards aligned with Arcadia’s brand and long-term vision. Introduce tools and processes that support efficient, high-quality construction operations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred). 10+ years of progressive residential construction experience, including senior leadership responsibility (required). Demonstrated experience building or scaling construction teams, operations, or programs (required). Strong background in custom, luxury, or high-end residential construction (required). Proven financial and operational expertise, including budgeting, scheduling, and performance management. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a small, growing organization. Experience with construction management software and modern project tracking tools. Experience in resort, master-planned, or luxury residential communities (preferred). Exposure to short-term rental or hospitality-related construction projects (preferred). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Deep knowledge of residential construction practices, materials, sequencing, and quality standards, particularly in custom or high-end homes. Strong working knowledge of building codes, permitting, safety standards, and construction risk management. Proven ability to build, scale, and lead construction teams with clear roles, accountability, and development. Solid financial and operational expertise, including budgeting, job costing, scheduling, and performance tracking. Experience designing and implementing construction systems, processes, and standards in a growing organization. Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with owners, clients, design partners, and subcontractors. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, balancing hands-on execution with strategic oversight. Proficiency with construction management tools and the ability to quickly adopt new technology. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly visit active construction sites and safely navigate uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and partially completed structures. Ability to stand, walk, and move around job sites for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift or carry materials or equipment up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in varying outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather, as required. Ability to visually inspect construction work, read plans, and identify quality and safety issues. Ability to travel locally between job sites, WindRiver, and related project locations as needed.
Responsibilities
