Job Description David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Vice President of Land for our Minneapolis-St. Paul Division to manage all aspects of land, including acquisitions, entitlements, and development. The VP of Land is responsible for overseeing the strategic operations, development, and implementation of the ambitious land strategy we are pursuing in the Twin Cities Metro market. Responsibilities: Develop and implement the Division's land acquisition strategy by setting goals, creating policies, and driving actions to achieve the business plan Cultivate and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with key developers, brokers, builders, trade groups, consultants, and contractors Accountable for the identification of opportunities for lots/land, including LOIs, negotiations, pro forma financial analysis, and purchase agreements Direct and manage land packages for acquisition opportunities, including data gathering, risk analysis, preparation, due diligence and delivery to the Land Committee Review, analyze, and summarize all risks related to environmental, political, entitlement, engineering, and development Review and approve development budgets and schedules for new properties Responsible for hiring, training, and developing Land Team Members Qualifications 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, real estate, planning, government relations, or related field required 5+ years experience in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metro market Proven track record of successfully leading all facets of the land process, including acquisition, entitlement, and development operations Track record of success in identifying and securing land opportunities, negotiating deals, securing site entitlements, and driving site development in alignment with aggressive goals and timelines Well-connected in the market with strong interpersonal skills to grow and nurture relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts accurately and persuasively Expertise in presenting strategic plans, project updates, and acquisition proposals to stakeholders, including executives, clients, and team members Understanding of market-specific industry trends Additional Information $225K Base + Bonus.
