Position Summary The Vice President of Manufacturing is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of manufacturing operations, with primary focus on production planning, production control, and manufacturing methods. This role ensures that all manufacturing activities are executed efficiently, meet quality standards, and align with company objectives. Riverside Mfg., LLC operates a vertically integrated manufacturing environment that includes electronic assembly (PCB/SMT), plastic injection molding, and metal fabrication, serving military, marine, and industrial markets. The Vice President of Manufacturing is responsible for establishing standardized processes, improving operational performance, and ensuring the organization is positioned to scale. This position reports directly to the President. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Planning * Develop, implement, and oversee production planning processes to align manufacturing output with customer demand and business objectives  * Establish and maintain master production schedules across all manufacturing operations  * Ensure capacity planning is aligned with labor, equipment, and material availability  * Collaborate with Materials, Purchasing and Engineering to ensure accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and planning parameters  Production Control * Lead production control functions to ensure effective execution of production schedules  * Monitor and manage key performance metrics including on-time delivery, throughput, work-in-process (WIP), and schedule adherence  * Identify production constraints and implement corrective actions to maintain flow and meet delivery commitments  * Establish systems and processes that provide visibility and accountability across all stages of production  Manufacturing Methods * Develop and standardize manufacturing processes across electronic assembly, molding, fabrication, and final assembly operations  * Ensure consistent work instructions, process documentation, and process controls are in place  * Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement  * Evaluate and implement improvements in production layouts, workflows, and equipment utilization  Leadership and Organizational Management * Provide leadership and direction to manufacturing, production planning, and process engineering teams  * Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations  * Support the development of supervisors, managers, and technical staff  * Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning, training, and succession planning  Cross-Functional Coordination * Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality to ensure alignment from product design through production  * Support new product introduction to ensure manufacturability and efficient production ramp-up  * Coordinate with Quality to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal standards  Operational Performance and Compliance * Ensure manufacturing operations meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements  * Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline  * Support facility planning, equipment investments, and process scalability initiatives
