QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years senior leadership experience in a multi-location warehouse environment and working with senior management
- Master’s degree in business administration and/or bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain and logistic principals; previous work as a supply chain/warehouse manager would be an asset
- Direct managerial experience with distribution center processes (receiving, picking packing, shipping, returns, value added processing and sub-assembly) to ensure that facilities are safe and well-maintained
- Proven track record of leading a manufacturing business
- Experience managing highly complex projects with aggressive deadlines to translate business requirements into actional plans
- Strong customer orientation, focusing on creating great experiences for customers and team members
- Possess leadership qualities that will motivate team members to exceed expectations and achieve personal goals
- Advanced knowledge of office tools such as MS Office and Excel
- Experience with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite would be an asset
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and time management skills to meet deadlines for multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Must be flexible with work hours to meet business demands and to support different shifts
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking a self-directed, experienced Vice President of Operations to join our team and provide management and strategic oversite of all operations. The ideal candidate will lead all day-to-day operations of our warehouses, production and supply chain and will develop a communicative, efficient organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties will include but not be limited to
- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of our facilities
- Attract, develop and retain the best talent possible to build a high performing organization
- Develop and execute the supply chain strategy aligned with the overall business objectives
- Work with the sales team to trouble shoot customer concerns and ensure customer orders are shipped on time
- Lead strategic projects and assignments to improve warehousing and logistics capabilities
- Create a culture focused on Operational Excellence to promote a continuous improvement environment
- Lead a team of 4 managers (procurement, logistics and regulatory, warehouse & production) across multiple locations.
- Hire and coach operational managers to ensure engagement and improve performance
- Ensure consistency and quality of all operations and workplace safety
- Remove production constraints, allocating personnel and equipment resources to maintain and enhance profitability
- Assess warehouse designs/layouts and operation performance and develop/implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs in supply chain operations
- Oversee the management of inbound and outbound shipments
- Monitor and control operational expenses associated with procurement, production, transportation and other supply chain activities and proactively eliminate unnecessary costs
- Ensure that the company has adequate inventory of products to meet customer demand while avoiding overstocking or shortage
- Oversee development of supplier network to ensure that the company always has access to the materials it needs at competitive prices
- Ensure that all suppliers meet minimum quality standards for their products
- Bring strong analytical skills to develop operational KPIs and targets and work with senior management to plan and execute key policies and processes
- Review and analyze reports on metrics to increase process efficiency
- Develop a crisis management program
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Other duties as assigned
