Description

ABOUT SALT DENTAL PARTNERS

SALT Dental Partners is a nationwide Pediatric, Orthodontic, and Oral Surgery platform supporting 170+ practices across the country. We are driven by a simple belief: specialty care should be exceptional, collaborative, and patient-first. As we aggressively expand our Oral Surgery vertical, we’re looking for a strategic and operational leader to shape the future of surgical care across our platform.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a Vice President of Operations – Oral Surgery, to lead the development, growth, and ongoing performance of our Oral Surgery service line. This role will be responsible for partnering with our Oral Surgeons to design the foundational Oral Surgery Playbook, and create a comprehensive blueprint that guides the integration, optimization, and expansion of Oral Surgery services within markets that house our existing pediatric and orthodontic offices.
This is not a plug-and-play role. We’re looking for someone who has walked the walk in Oral Surgery operations, someone who understands the clinical, operational, and financial sides of surgical care. You’ll be refining the service line alongside our Chief Operating Officer and Chief Clinical Officer in collaboration with Oral Surgeons, Operations, FP&A, Marketing, Data & Analytics, Talent and our Strategy teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Build the Oral Surgery Playbook: Lead the design and implementation of scalable processes, protocols, and standards that define how we deliver Oral Surgery across our platform.
  • P&L Ownership: Oversee financial performance of the Oral Surgery line—monitor key drivers, collaborate with FP&A, and implement initiatives to improve margins and drive sustainable growth.
  • System Integration: Guide the transition and optimization of existing Oral Surgery Practice Management Systems (PMS) in coordination with our data and technology teams.
  • Referral Engine Development: Partner with Marketing and internal referral sources to drive patient volume, build awareness, and grow utilization of surgical services.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with Growth, Strategy, and Clinical teams to align Oral Surgery expansion with broader enterprise priorities.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage insights from PMS and analytics teams to identify opportunities, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve operational outcomes.
  • Culture and Clinical Alignment: Ensure the Oral Surgery service line fits within our patient-first culture and integrates seamlessly with pediatric and orthodontic partners in each location.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of multi-site healthcare or dental operations experience, including a strong track record in Oral Surgery or surgical services.
  • Proven experience launching or scaling a service line within a distributed healthcare environment (DSO, MSO, ASC, etc.).
  • High emotional intelligence—able to build trust quickly across clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen—comfortable with P&L ownership, financial modeling, and strategic planning.
  • Experience with Practice Management Systems (PMS) and integration or conversion efforts.
  • Analytical mindset—able to translate data into action and communicate insights clearly to operators and executives.
  • A collaborative leader who thrives in a growth environment and is energized by building something new.
