Join a mission-driven organization committed to changing lives and strengthening communities. We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and relationship-focused Vice President of Philanthropy to lead our fundraising and philanthropic initiatives during a time of transformational growth and impact.
Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio has been a vital part of the community for over a century, dedicated to improving lives through skill-building programs and services. While recognized for our retail thrift stores, our mission extends far beyond; we provide essential job training and support services that empower individuals to overcome barriers to employment.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President of Philanthropy will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and be responsible for developing and executing a robust, multi-channel fundraising strategy. This includes corporate and foundation giving, major gifts, annual and planned giving, grant writing, donor stewardship, events, and an upcoming capital campaign.
This individual will also serve as an advocate and ambassador for the organization, building meaningful relationships with donors, community leaders, and other stakeholders to enhance our visibility, increase support, and advance our mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising/development, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated success in leading capital campaigns, securing major gifts, and diversifying funding portfolios.
  • Proven experience in donor cultivation and stewardship, grant writing, and event-based fundraising.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor database systems, and metrics-driven strategy.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with budget planning and forecasting.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Passion for community-focused work and alignment with the organization’s values.
Goodwill is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or disability status.
