Description Lehigh Valley Public Media is seeking a VP of Product to lead the transformation of LVPM into a digital-first Community Hub—a trusted, daily destination for local information, connection, and engagement. This is a product and user experience leadership role, focused on designing intuitive, community-centric digital experiences that make LVPM indispensable to local audiences. You will partner closely with the VP of Content to translate editorial vision into engaging, scalable user experiences across web, mobile, and newsletters. What You’ll Do Define Product Vision & UX Strategy · Lead LVPM’s product vision with a focus on user needs, simplicity, and daily utility · Build a roadmap that drives engagement, repeat usage, and habit formation · Build Community solutions that allow users to seamlessly interact with LVPM platforms Design Community-Centric Experiences · Shape the Community Hub experience, making it easy to engage across platforms · Create seamless, intuitive user journeys that balance editorial authority and community voice Drive Audience Engagement & Growth · Increase frequency, time spent, and engagement across LVPM platforms Lead Product Development & Iteration · Own the lifecycle: insight ? concept ? MVP ? launch ? iteration · Prioritize features based on user value and impact · Implement lean, agile workflows suited to a resource-constrained organization Collaborate Cross-Functionally · Partner with Content, Marketing, and Technology teams · Translate user and editorial needs into clear product requirements · Guide execution with internal or external technical resources Use Data to Inform Decisions · Define and track key engagement metrics (usage, retention, participation) · Continuously refine experiences based on user behavior and insights Requirements Required Experience Product & UX Leadership · 8–12+ years in digital product management, with strong UX focus · Proven ability to build engaging, consumer-facing digital products · Strong consumer product orientation, ideally with a background in media · Strong knowledge of emerging platforms AI Orientation · Have a strong understanding of AI models, including LLMs and Agentic solutions, along with emerging AI tools · Willingness to develop AI based solutions, experimenting with how it can enhance and accelerate the path to a Community Hub Proven ability to build engaging Community & Engagement Mindset · Experience designing community-driven or participation-based platforms · Strong intuition for building trust, interaction, and belonging Audience Growth Expertise · Track record improving engagement, retention, and conversion · Familiarity with content and newsletter-driven ecosystems Data-Informed Decision Making · Comfortable using analytics (e.g., GA4) to guide product decisions · Focused on actionable insights—not complex infrastructure Execution in Lean Environments · Strong prioritization and ability to deliver high-impact outcomes with limited resources Collaboration & Communication · Effective at working across editorial, product, and technical teams · Able to translate user needs into clear, actionable direction The ideal should be able to work with a start-up mentality, with a strong orientation towards rapid testing and iteration.
