APH offers customized services for Medicaid, Medicare, and the ACA/Marketplace lines of business.       POSITION PURPOSE     The Vice President of Respiratory Operations (VPRO) serves as the senior operational leader responsible for shaping, implementing, and optimizing the organization’s respiratory care strategy across diverse service settings—ranging from home- and community-based care to complex post-acute environments.  This role integrates strategic vision, clinical excellence, operational discipline, and business innovation to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care services. The VP will oversee multidisciplinary teams, develop scalable care models, implement process and quality improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance.  A successful candidate will combine deep clinical expertise in respiratory therapy with proven executive-level leadership in population health and long-term care service lines—balancing financial sustainability with mission-driven impact.        DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES    Operational & Financial Leadership  * Oversee day-to-day operations of all respiratory care service lines, including Population Outcome Management, Complex Respiratory Management, Enhanced Respiratory Care, and Remote Monitoring programs. * Lead financial planning, budget management, cost containment strategies, and ROI assessments for respiratory operations. * Establish operational dashboards to track KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions. * Ensure optimal allocation of clinical and non-clinical resources, reducing waste while maintaining patient safety and care quality. Program Development & Growth  * Create and scale integrated respiratory care models across post-acute care (LTACH, SNF), home-based care, and HCBS programs for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. * Identify and develop new market opportunities, including payer partnerships, risk-based arrangements, and value-based care initiatives. * Design innovative service delivery models that incorporate telehealth, virtual monitoring, and advanced respiratory technologies. * Conduct comprehensive market analyses to inform strategic expansion into new geographic areas or service categories. Scope of Work & Strategic Planning  * Lead the development and execution of detailed Scopes of Work (SOWs) for internal initiatives, payer contracts, and clinical partnerships. * Collaborate with executive leadership to align respiratory operations with organizational strategic goals and long-term sustainability plans. * Monitor and adapt strategies in response to changes in healthcare policy, reimbursement models, and market trends. Project Management & Implementation  * Establish project management frameworks that ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of strategic initiatives. * Coordinate cross-functional teams, that may include but are not limited to; clinical, operational, IT, finance, to achieve project milestones. * Apply risk assessment and mitigation strategies for large-scale program rollouts. Clinical Oversight & Quality Assurance  * Ensure adherence to federal, state, and accreditation requirements (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.). * Lead Quality Enhancement Initiatives (QEIs) to improve patient outcomes, reduce readmissions, and enhance care coordination. * Promote the adoption of evidence-based clinical protocols and advanced therapies in respiratory care. * Oversee quality audits, outcome reporting, and continuous improvement programs. Leadership & Organizational Culture  * Mentor and develop senior leaders, clinical managers, and operations teams to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. * Promote staff engagement, retention, and professional development, including career pathway planning for respiratory therapists and clinical staff. * Model servant leadership, emphasizing ethical decision-making and patient-first values. Stakeholder Engagement & Innovation  * Build and maintain strong relationships with payers, health systems, community partners, and regulatory agencies. * Represent the organization in industry forums, legislative discussions, and academic partnerships. * Drive innovation in respiratory care delivery by piloting new devices, telemonitoring solutions, and integrated care platforms.      SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS  * Fifteen (15+) years of experience in respiratory care and healthcare. * Ten (10+) years in senior leadership or executive roles. * Proven track record in developing, implementing, and scaling clinical programs within a population health or complex care environment. * Ability to articulate a clear strategic direction and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals. * Deep knowledge of respiratory therapy, post-acute care pathways, and complex chronic disease management. * Skilled in P&L management, value-based contracting, and resource optimization. * Proven track record of operational turnarounds, process standardization, and program scaling. * Strong data interpretation skills for KPI tracking, trend analysis, and forecasting. * Exceptional interpersonal skills for cross-sector collaboration and stakeholder engagement. * Demonstrated emotional stability, professional appearance, and adherence to patient confidentiality regulations. * Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and HIPAA-compliant data handling practices.     EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATION  * Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, respiratory therapy, nursing, or related field required. * Master's degree in healthcare administration, respiratory therapy, nursing, or related field preferred. * A combination of equivalent education and professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements. * Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) in good standing with the state board required. * Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.  * Advanced certifications in pulmonary rehabilitation, asthma/COPD management, or population health management preferred. * Certification in population health management, health informatics, or Lean Six Sigma is beneficial.   BENEFITS & TOTAL REWARDS  * Paid Orientation and Training  * Insurance – Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life * 401k Plan – 3% match * Employee Assistance Program * Tuition Reimbursement * Continued Education Support * Mileage Reimbursement (if applicable) * Referral Bonuses * Paid Holidays (9 days) * Flexible Time Off * Paid Volunteer Hours    CHARACTER & COMPETENCIES  * Courage – To have the courage to the right thing at the right time. * Ownership – To take ownership of every issue you touch. * Respect – To respect yourself, co-workers, and for those whom you care. * Excellence – To be excellent in all that you do. * Diversity - Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy;
