Working closely with the retail banking team, marketing, and senior management, this role supports strategic initiatives that expand sales opportunities and enhance market competitiveness. The VP of Retail Banking actively engages in community-based activities, leads customer acquisition and retention efforts, and ensures service quality expectations are consistently achieved.   Essential Functions   Own and execute the Deposit Growth Plan referenced in the bank Strategic Plan. Build and lead a Sales and Service culture within Retail to support deposit growth goals while maintaining strong quality service. Create a goal and accountability structure to ensure staff’s alignment with sales and service initiatives using performance standards, monitoring, and reporting. Provide guidance and support for the initiatives communicating successes and concerns. Own the Customer Relationship Module for the Retail team and hold members accountable for usage. Ensure staff is well trained and a friendly, professional environment is maintained. Provide coaching and mentorship to the team. Ensure staff members have a strong working knowledge of bank products and services, provide customers with accurate information, and regularly identify opportunities to help customers with additional products and services, including referrals to other areas of the bank. Conduct regular staff meetings to share information, answer questions, provide feedback, or discuss methods to achieve sales, service and operational goals.  Lead the Quality Service Committee to share and review feedback from customers, monitor trends and make changes to improve processes, products and/or service. Actively participate in various community-based activities within the bank’s market to demonstrate Itasca Bank’s commitment to community. Ensure staff members complete prescribed training annually and are knowledgeable of regulatory requirements. Assess and continually evaluate the competitiveness of our deposit products and services compared to peer banks and suggest and execute changes if needed.  Monitor deposit pricing in the market and make necessary rate adjustments to stay competitive while preserving the net interest margin and Bank earnings performance.  Help build and maintain product lines that meet and/or exceed the customer’s needs. Formulate and communicate action plans for carrying out products; train and leverage support staff on products; and serve as a resource for staff. Maintain continuous awareness of competitive products and business development opportunities.   Supervisory Responsibility   This position is responsible for all retail banking departments and staff.   Work Environment   This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.   Physical Demands   Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.   Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time exempt position.
