Our client, a prominent name in the structural steel sector, is expanding into the US market and is seeking a Vice President of US Operations to drive this critical phase of growth. This is a remote-first leadership role requiring significant travel across the United States. The ideal candidate will come from the structural steel manufacturing world—or an adjacent sector—and bring with them a proven track record of business development and a robust industry network.

What You’ll Be

Doing

  • Growth Leadership: Build and execute strategies that expand US market share, develop new revenue streams, and strengthen brand presence.
  • Business Development: Leverage your network to identify and secure new project opportunities; bring a book of business or established relationships in the construction/steel sectors.
  • Client Partnerships: Cultivate lasting relationships with contractors, developers, and decision-makers; serve as the face of the company in the US.
  • Operational Oversight: Lead all US project delivery activities, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability standards are met or exceeded.
  • Financial Accountability: Manage operational budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics with a focus on sustainable growth and margin optimization.
  • Team Leadership: Build and guide cross-functional teams, foster accountability, and drive a high-performance culture aligned with company goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 15+ years in construction or manufacturing, ideally with senior leadership experience in structural steel or a related industry.
  • Network: A deep and active network within the US construction ecosystem, especially within structural or architectural steel.
  • Business Acumen: Proven success in driving new business, building strategic partnerships, and capturing new markets.
  • Operational Rigor: Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and ensure delivery across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or related field. MBA preferred.
