We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Operational Risk Coverage to join our Operational Risk team. This role is located in Manchester Responsible for the second line of defense on-going independent oversight, challenge and advice on day-to-day operational risk management for the Wealth Services Platform. Oversee and support execution of the Operational Risk Management Framework by the Wealth Services Platform to facilitate the identification, assessment and mitigation of risk arising from people, process, systems and external events. Provide ongoing coaching and advice to the Wealth Services Platform on current and emerging risk related matters. Provide specific views and support to EMEA Legal entities Contribute to the oversight and monitoring of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) for this Platform, including guidance, challenge and approval for risk acceptance, action closure, manual processes and formally concurring to the RCSA accuracy annually. Partner with this Platform to identify significant risk and control weaknesses through the creation of likely scenarios, stress/scale testing, process review, control design review and other risk deep dives Provide input, oversight and challenge to the Platforms Scenario Analysis. Support the quarterly Risk ID and High-Level Assessment (HLA) process by participating in pre-HLA meetings, reviewing and challenging HLAs. Review, challenge and have input into new and change related client, jurisdiction, product and processes such as Business Acceptance Committee, New / Modified Products and Business Process Change for this Platform. Oversee, challenge and monitor Operational Risk Events (OREs) and Operational Risk Limits (ORLs) related to Wealth Services Platform to identify trends, identify root causes and ensure appropriate remediation actions to address control gaps and ensure that the Platform adheres to its Risk Appetite. Escalate emerging and identified Issues; oversee, challenge and monitor resolution of issues, identify issue trends and themes and review and approve remediation for closure of issues. Provide input and challenge on reporting for Risk, Control and Legal Entity Reporting for Pershing Legal Entities. Leverage operational risk reporting and analytics to aid oversight, analysis and management information. Contribute to the achievement of the Platform’s Strategy, Objectives and Key Results and regulatory deliverables. Take responsibility for continuously seeking out and identifying potential risks before they materialize. Partner with the 1LoD to dive the development, implementation, and monitoring of robust controls and mitigation strategies to minimize risk exposure. Act with integrity and accountability, always aiming to do what's right for the organization and its stakeholders. Work closely with teams across the organization (have a seat at the table - early), sharing insights and fostering open communication about risks. Encourage a culture where everyone feels empowered to report and discuss risks, supporting collective vigilance. Ensure that risk decisions consider the impact on clients, prioritizing their safety, trust, and interests. Clearly communicate risk-related matters, building confidence and trust. Promote intelligent, controlled and balanced risk-taking to support client needs. Regularly review and enhance risk management processes, adapting to new threats and regulatory changes. Make informed risk decisions that balance organizational growth and protection, enabling progress without unnecessary risk exposure. Approach risk assessment with curiosity, digging deep to understand root causes and emerging threats. Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory developments, to anticipate and address new risks. Experience in Operational Risk Management or a similar oversight role required. Previous relevant work experience required Experience covering the clearing business is a plus. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Solid interpersonal and teamwork skills. Data analytics skills/experience preferred.
