Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

To lead and manage the delivery of effective project management and project control practices and assurance throughout the Line of Business (LoB) to enable successful delivery of projects and business growth.
This role will act as a key member of the LoB and Project Controls & Risk Function Senior Leadership team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develop and lead the LoB Project Controls function as an organisation focused on high performance by providing Project Control expertise and resources across the business areas whilst driving appropriate challenge and support to the LoB
  • As a key member of the LoB Senior Leadership team, develop and deliver strategic plans focussed on achieving sustainable business growth
  • Act as a key member of the Project Controls and Risk function UK Senior Leadership team to determine, develop and deliver its strategic initiatives, such as:
  • Integrated Planning
  • Improved Project Controls involvement and output in the Project Initiation and Mobilisation phases
  • Integrated Business Management
  • A data enabled framework for effective and efficient decision making
  • Lead the LoB implementation for Integrated Planning, collaborating at all levels of the business and across functions to maximise benefit realisation
  • Ensure the delivery and application of company project management and planning methodology (through process, toolset selection and training) to ensure a consistent, measurable approach to successful project performance e.g. implementation of IPT Framework, Lifecycle Management, Earned Value Management and Schedule Quality
  • Act as the focal point for the project management and project control governance structure to ensure it is understood and followed within the LoB
  • Work with the Sector VP’s to ensure that the Project Management and Project Controls frameworks and applied to enable successful project delivery and ensure any risks of non-compliance are understood and addressed.
  • Support the development of the Project Management community within the LOB in conjunction with the Sector VPs to ensure a sustainable pool of Project Management SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced People) reflective of the LoBs requirements
  • Identify and champion areas for continuous improvement, working with PMO, PCO and LoB’s leads to define and support implementation
  • In co-ordination with Sector VPs, lead Succession planning against a defined set of career paths to deliver a resource model across Project Controls and Project Management
  • Chair the LoB PM/PC Council and attend UK PM/PC Council to drive collaboration within and outside the LoB on consistent approach to and continuous improvement of Project Management practices at Leonardo.
