About IBG Australia
IBG Australia is the primary client facing function of Australia Branch responsible for customer selection, credit assessment, transaction structuring, due diligence, onboarding and ongoing customer management and reviews in accordance with the Australia Branch strategies, business plans and policies.
Job Purpose
Support IBG Australia in building and maintaining the customer portfolio of DBS Australia including developing DBS’ franchise and market position within the Australian banking market.

Key Accountabilities

  • Management and oversight of the assigned client portfolio in the relevant industry.
  • Originate and lead execution of mandates covering various products covering Loans, Cash, Trade, Treasury & Markets, Debt Capital Markets, M&A Advisory and Equity Capital Markets.
  • Work closely with product groups, industry teams, and relationship teams from across the franchise to identify and pursue business opportunities in Australia, and in the region for outbound Australian customers.
  • Coach junior/support banker/s on origination, technical and execution skills, including the preparation of credit and marketing materials, and legal transactional documentation.
  • Get ‘satisfactory’ rating on all audits on the branch by internal, external and regulatory auditors.
  • Comply with HO policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Ensure data integrity of customers’ data and ensure KYC procedures are complied with.
Financial Accountabilities
Responsible for achieving various financial targets (i.e. team revenue, cross-sell, ROE, etc.) assigned on an annual basis.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake marketing activities to build and diversify Branch’s loan portfolio, with primary focus on the Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure (ERI) industry.
  • Cross sell into the bank’s non-loan products, primarily from Global Transactional Services and Treasury & Markets, and where relevant capital markets and advisory solutions.
  • Identify pertinent credit, compliance and execution issues relating to deal origination and relationship management, and lead the resolution of the same.
  • Conceptualize and undertake analysis on clients and assets, including capital structure, valuation, with a view of developing and marketing banking solutions to the clients.
  • Prepare credit applications (including quantitative and qualitative analysis) for new transactions, and to undertake periodic credit review of existing portfolio on a timely manner. Annual reviews of accounts and compliance of covenants are to be completed on a timely basis.
  • Prepare industry reports on various industry segments as required.
  • Monitor and manage assigned accounts actively, being alerted to credit deterioration or improvement, and taking timely action including escalation to senior bankers and credit colleagues

Requirements

Experience

  • At least 7 years of institutional banking experience, and ideally with a track record of business origination, credit preparation and sales execution in a front office function

Education / Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with relevant banking & finance experience is required
  • Knowledge and experience in the ERI sector is preferred
