JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 10 years of corporate or structured financing credit experience within commercial banking, with exposure to multiple regions (e.g., EMEA, Americas, Japan) to bring best practices to APAC.
  • At least 2 years of credit experience in structured financing.
  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese (e.g., JLPT N1 certification, degree from a Japanese university, or equivalent) is required, as the role involves frequent engagement and reporting to Japanese speaking stakeholders at Tokyo HQ.
  • Strong credit skills to manage complicated financing structure, risk mitigation and key counterparties’ financials.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to influence others based on solid securitization-related knowledge.
  • Sound knowledge of products and detailed understanding of Bank’s internal process

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To evaluate individual credit applications and monitor / review existing transactions under SFCO as an VP-class credit analyst.
MUFG is pursuing a global expansion of its securitization business. To execute this strategy while maintaining portfolio quality, it is essential to establish close communication with the headquarter in Japan and to introduce business practices and experiences from other regions into Asia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the promotion of the department’s credit strategy and initiative.
  • Contribute to a healthy balance sheet in assessing credit applications and monitoring process.Conduct thorough review of credit applications including review of projection modelling to assess credit risk by leveraging information from various sources.Assist in preparation and review of memos required for approval of credit application. Memos to include detailed analysis of transaction background, structure of transactions, creditworthiness of relevant parties, and industry and regulatory environment.Monitor the existing portfolio by regular review of borrower ratings so that credit costs are properly calculated.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders within MUFG.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the region and Tokyo HQ to improve the quality of credit risk management.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues in the product offices and coverage teams in the region to understand their business strategies and pipeline transactions.
  • Act as a role model to team members and adhere to all company policies / guidelines.
  • Support, coach and guide team on complex credit applications.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations in order to understand the business of the Bank’s clients but also the country’s economic state.
