Function positioning Systems Division supports MBE’s IT structures with regard to IT applications, infrastructure and hardware. There are 4 pillars in the division: 1. IT Planning 2. IT Service Delivery 3. IT Security 4. Local Branches IT The VP Technical Delivery Manager reports to the Head of IT Planning who reports to the Head of IT Division. The role includes the following: Support the MBE IT teams in the provision / transition support and change planning, whilst liaising with the project team. Responsible for the definition, documentation and safe execution of simple to complex projects or project deliverables, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identify, assess and manage risks to the success of the project. Support the cost estimation and any planning activities for the successful delivery of the project(s) to an agreed term of reference. Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained, and track all activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders, as appropriate. In association with the project manager, monitor costs, timescales and resources used, and take action where these deviate from established tolerances for the agreed deliverables. Ensure that delivered systems are implemented within these criteria. Manage the change control procedure and ensure the agreed project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off. Gain agreement for revisions to the project(s) from project sponsors. Escalate where performance deviates from agreed tolerances. Actively represent the project team, supporting the effective relationships which have been built and maintained with the business. Ensure that team’s projects or project deliverables are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and actioned. Produce appropriate documentation to support these processes. Take responsibility for the team’s objectives in association with others as necessary. Provide advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required. In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following: Technical Knowledge and Skills The function requires an intellectual and working background at HBO level and experience in a similar function or relevant area. The function requires in depth knowledge of the (intra-) departmental workflows and processes, of the products offered by our Front Office and of the applicable internal and external legislation. The function also requires knowledge and understanding/experience of/with the bank's business, policies, rules and guidelines. Another important requirement is being able to work under pressure (meet deadlines). Has IT project management skills and experience, ideally PRINCE2 qualified. Knowledgeable and experienced in Waterfall methodology. Demonstrates a good overall knowledge with application development concepts and practice, with a deep knowledge in the software development technologies and delivery methodologies. Demonstrates an understanding of current developments in the application of Information Systems and is able to assimilate and interpret advice from specialists - technical or otherwise. Takes a logical, analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal skills and must be able to document and articulate to others key issues in the infrastructure arena. Able to rapidly evaluate and understand new products within the team’s scope. Drive the building of a service excellence culture, always putting the customer, our people and our business at the centre of everything undertaken. The Technical Delivery Manager keeps his/her knowledge and skills up-to-date by reading internal bulletins regarding his area and by external or internal education. Language skills Verbal and written communication skills in English is essential; Dutch is an advantage.
