Description

Reporting to the Head of Underwriting, Reinsurance & Claims, this role is responsible for providing technical support, assisting in business development, as well as sharing best practices and expertise in marine and non-marine insurance across our Business Units (BUs) in the Asia Pacific region. Besides identifying and capturing new business opportunities, this role will support our initiatives and multinational program implementation in the region.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree holder, preferably with major in insurance or business management
  • Professional qualifications in insurance will be an added advantage
  • Minimum ten years of experience in insurance, and preferably with at least three years of experience in a middle management role
  • Operations experience in marine/ non-marine underwriting, reinsurance and marketing of insurance products
  • Leadership experience with emphasis on underwriting performance
  • Multi-LOB experience is added advantage and is preferred; willingness to learn and expand knowledge in underwriting of other areas of the business.
  • Good business analytical and relationship building skills
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Asian cultural and insurance business dynamics

    Pay: $8,900.00 - $16,700.00 per month

Responsibilities
  • Assist to provide technical support to our BUs
  • Develop and assist in the development and maintenance of insurance products and/or business development initiatives
  • Promote the sharing of knowledge and best practices, including organising or supporting in the organisation of conferences and seminars
  • Identify and organise training needs for our BUs
  • Support initiatives and multinational program implementation in the region
  • Support marine and non-marine underwriting - with additional focus on Liability (‘four-eyes’ regional referral and treaty special acceptance referrals)
  • Contribute to the preparation of own and senior management presentations to relevant internal and external audiences in areas of expertise
  • Participate in the organisation and follow-up of underwriting reviews in the region
