Description

As part of the District’s ongoing leadership capacity development and succession planning, the school district is expanding its leadership opportunities in alternate education.
School District No. 27 is one of the largest employers in the Cariboo-Chilcotin Region with over 850 employees, serving approximately 4600 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in 22 schools. The district’s larger center’s provide easy access to larger urban areas (Vancouver, Prince George, Kelowna) .
This is a new position to compliment the current team, and the incumbent will work primarily out of 100 Mile House, but will work with the Principal to support both Skyline and Storefront. Regular travel between the two communities is an expectation with this role.
Skyline , in Williams Lake works with and supports approximately 30 youth in grades 8-12.
Storefront, in 100 Mile House works with and supports approximately 15 youth in grades 8-12.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess or be enrolled in a master’s degree in administration, Educational Leadership, Curriculum, Special Education or other relevant area.
  • Hold a valid B.C. Professional Teaching Certificate.
  • Recent, successful administrator or teaching experience.
  • Qualifications and/or experience in counselling or learning support services is an asset.

  • Solid understanding of and leadership with current trends in curriculum implementation, instruction, assessment practices and reporting, and improving student learning
  • Diverse teaching experience, including multi-grade teaching experience, development of Individual Educational Plans and a high professional standard of teaching competence,
  • Clear evidence of on-going professional growth and involvement in professional activities,
  • Support and maintain a safe and caring school, and good community relations,
  • Ability to foster intellectual, emotional and social growth in students.
