POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and collaborative educator to serve as Vice Principal for Grades K to 3. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor of Education or an equivalent degree recognized by Alberta Education.
  • Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience preferred, ideally in early years education.
  • Strong understanding of diverse teaching methodologies and learning styles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional growth.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESACADEMIC LEADERSHIP

  • Collaborate with the Principal in designing and implementing curriculum and instructional practices aligned with Alberta Education standards and the school’s mission.
  • Support and mentor teachers in delivering differentiated, engaging, and inclusive instruction.
  • Monitor student progress, implement data-driven interventions, and support struggling learners.
  • Lead and participate in professional development initiatives that foster continuous improvement.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Assist the Principal in scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, and other operational needs.
  • Coordinate school events, parent-teacher conferences, and staff meetings.
  • Manage standardized testing and ensure compliance with provincial and federal education requirements.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including academic performance, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
