Geographically located in south-central British Columbia, School District 22 serves the communities of Vernon, Coldstream, Lavington, Lumby, and Cherryville, providing exceptional educational services to a diverse group of students. The district is located on the unceded, ancestral territory of the Syilx Nation. We welcome a growing newcomer population and host approximately 250 international students annually.
We offer a wide variety of educational programs including but not limited to French Immersion, Distributed Learning Courses, opportunities for Trades Training and Secondary Apprenticeships, and school and district-based alternative programs, as well as numerous sports and specialty Academies. The district employs 1,220 staff and operates on a budget of $140 million. We are home to 8,824 students; 19 schools, 14 Elementary schools, 5 Secondary schools, 1 district online learning school (vLearn), and 1 alternate program.
