Description Vice Provost for Institutional and Educational Effectiveness (VPIEE) Summary The Vice Provost for Institutional and Educational Effectiveness (VP|EE) provides executive leadership for academic assessment, accreditation, institutional research, and continuous improvement in alignment with the mission of Saint Mary's College. The VPIEE works closely with the Provost, Deans, faculty, and senior administrators to ensure that programs and initiatives are evidence-based, outcomes-driven, and designed to advance student success and institutional excellence. As a member of the Provost's Council, the VPIEE plays a critical role in guiding academic planning, ensuring compliance, and strengthening the College's culture of evidence- informed decision making. Key Responsibilities • Provide strategic leadership for institutional research, data analytics, and accreditation compliance. • Oversee academic program review, assessment of student learning, and evaluation of institutional effectiveness. • Partner with academic and administrative leaders across divisions to integrate effectiveness measures into strategic planning, resource allocation, and institutional initiatives. • Manage institutional reporting to external agencies (e.g., WSCUC, IPEDS, state and federal agencies). • Develop dashboards and decision-support systems to inform planning and decision making at the College. • Represent the College externally to accreditors, government agencies, and higher education consortia on matters of accreditation, compliance, and data integrity. • Promote a culture of evidence-based planning and continuous improvement across all divisions of the College. • Oversee the budget and staffing for institutional research, assessment, and related offices, ensuring effective resource management aligned with strategic priorities. • Supervise and mentor professional staff in institutional research, assessment, and related areas. Requirements Required Qualifications • Earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution. • Demonstrated leadership in accreditation, assessment, and institutional effectiveness. • Significant experience in higher education, preferably with oversight of academic effectiveness or institutional research at the executive level. • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey data insights to diverse audiences, including faculty, trustees, and external agencies. • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and advancing student success. Preferred Qualifications: • Direct experience with WSCUC or another regional accreditor. • Record of successful collaboration with faculty governance and academic leadership. • Familiarity with advanced data analytics, assessment platforms, and reporting tools. • Prior administrative experience in a provost's office or as a senior institutional effectiveness leader. Reporting: Reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. Appointment Type This is a full-time senior administrative role. Candidates with significant faculty and scholarly experience are strongly encouraged to apply; a concurrent faculty appointment with retreat rights may be considered for qualified individuals. Teaching is not an expectation while serving as Vice Provost.
