Responsibilities

The Victims Liaison Officer position is responsible for coordination of support and representation of victims within the YJGC program in Victoria and working in collaboration with Youth Justice and funded providers. The role supports victims in pre and post conference client meetings and conference participation in metropolitan and regional Victoria. The position provides relevant information, advice, and training to key stakeholders to enhance victim centric practice and outcomes.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing effective advice and support and represent victims at selected restorative processes across Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria - including intensive pre and post process support
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders and collaborating to secure positive victim and service system outcomes
  • Participating in the preparation and facilitation of specialised victim sector and YJ training to key stakeholders such as YJGC providers, the Victims of Crime (VOC) Helpline, Victoria Police and Victims Assistance Program (VAP) agencies.

The role requires local and regional travel and may occur outside of business hours, this requires an applicant who possesses a current Victorian driver’s licence and flexible availability.
