Responsibilities

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A TALENTED AND STRATEGIC VIDEO EDITOR TO JOIN OUR NEW COMPANY IN SOUTHPORT. THIS IS AN IMMEDIATE-START POSITION, WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME REMOTE WORK, BUT A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE ROLE REQUIRES YOU TO BE IN THE OFFICE.

This is not a purely technical role. We need a creative storyteller who can help us build a deeper connection with our audience by transforming raw footage into compelling, influential content that builds and maintains our brand identity.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY SKILLS:

  • ⁠ ⁠Brand Building: You will be essential in ensuring brand consistency across all video content. This includes using our brand’s unique visual style, maintaining a cohesive tone, and creating standardised intros and outros.
  • ⁠ ⁠Strategic Storytelling: You will be responsible for editing long-form content, such as podcasts and live streams, to craft narratives that resonate with our audience and build a strong community.
  • ⁠ ⁠Proof over Promises: We create content that demonstrates real achievements and expertise. Your editing will be crucial in visually showcasing this “proof” in a compelling way that stands out from the competition.
  • ⁠ ⁠Authenticity & Rawness: We believe in the power of authenticity to build trust. You should be skilled at maintaining the genuine feel of raw, unproduced content while enhancing it for maximum impact.
  • ⁠ ⁠Collaboration & Communication: You must be able to take direction well, ask clarifying questions, and provide updates. You will be part of a team and effective communication is essential for the smooth running of projects and building a cohesive brand.
  • ⁠ ⁠Technical Proficiency: You must be skilled in professional video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), including a solid grasp of audio editing and mixing, colour correction, and motion graphics basics to keep our videos dynamic and engaging.
  • ⁠ ⁠Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is vital for precision in cutting, timing transitions, and ensuring there are no errors in the final product.
  • ⁠ ⁠Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with current content trends, including the shift towards “interest media” and the evolving role of AI. You will be expected to leverage your skills to create videos that are relevant and engaging in the current digital landscape.
