Description

About the job

I am hiring two Casual Video Editors for Impressive Film, and as we are a growing business, there is always an opportunity to progress into a full-time producer role.

I explained down below why if send me a showreel, the answer is already NO.

This is NOT a remote role and if you are around the Hills Shire Area, this could be the best position for you.

At IMPRESSIVE Film we film a lot. Interviews, healthcare stories, business content, short videos for social and longer storytelling pieces.

I need two editors to work closely with me as a Video Producer in person.

Read these two lists before you message me. They will save us both time.

  • ** YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON IF YOU AREKeen to learn editing properly
  • Keen to sit next to a Senior Video Editor with 26 years experience and learn
  • Keen to build a career in editing
  • Keen to work on real client jobs
  • Happy to work on site with us
  • Comfortable with long footage
  • Good with feedback
  • Serious about the craft

  • ** YOU ARE NOT THE RIGHT PERSON IF YOU:Only do social media content
  • Rely on AI generated content
  • Rely on AI video apps
  • Only edit on your phone
  • Use templates and presets for everything
  • Only follow trends
  • Want to work from home

** WHAT YOU WOULD BE EDITING:Interviews and documentary style edits, usually from long footage. Short videos cut from our shoots. Multicam, log footage, proxies, sound, subtitles, versions and exports.

Some of the work is not exciting. That is still part of the job.

You will be learning a lot even more than university every single day. If you care about getting better, this is a good opportunity.

** PLEASE DO NOT SEND A SHOWREELA showreel shows me you can cut fifteen seconds to music. It does not show me how you handle a long interview, bad footage, or a client who changes their mind.

Send me one full video you edited from start to finish. Tell me what you were trying to do with it.Then tell me about a job where the footage was bad and what you did about it.

  • If that sounds like too much work, we are not a good fit.
