Description As a Video Intern, the employee will use technical knowledge of videography and video editing to assist in creating a variety of visual media. This role focuses largely on video editing but will require some photography in some cases. The Video Intern will work closely with the Marketing Team and under the direction of the Art Director, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Chief Development Officer to achieve the goals of the organization, whether it be brand awareness, recruiting volunteers, or raising money. The Video Intern should be able to work well with a team or work alone, depending on the specific needs of the project. The employee should also be able to take directions and always be ready to make changes to their work. This job requires a minimum of 15 hours per week and can be expanded to 40 hours per week if needed and accepted by both parties. As Video Intern, the employee needs to show skills in the following categories: • Excellent organizational, time, and project management skills • Accuracy and attention to detail • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to accept constructive criticism on projects • An understanding of visual communication and how it relates to an audience • Creativity and an innovative approach to projects • An understanding of the latest trends in video and photography and their role in marketing • Able to keep up to date with fast-changing trends in video, photo, and technology • Opportunity to create short form content to represent/raise awareness to the brand • Teamwork skills (projects require input from individuals with different roles/abilities) • Knowledge of video editing software (primarily Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve / Knowledge of After Effects is a plus) • Basic knowledge of photo editing software (Lightroom and Photoshop) • Knowledge of major social media platforms is a plus • Knowledge of audio engineering and lighting is a plus • Familiarity with design software (Adobe CC) is a plus • Familiarity with online module-based services (WordPress, Constant Contact, etc.) is a plus Requirements • Create/edit video content for social media channels - Vertical video priority - Reels (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, Shorts (YouTube), LinkedIn - Social media ads • Assist with photography needs under the supervision of the Art Director - Events, Headshots, Check presentations, etc. • Assist Marketing in the planning and follow through of the social media post schedule • Assist with recording/editing long-form video for various events and external work - Match Stories, Advertisements, Award Videos, Event intros • Assist with setting up behind the scenes (lighting, microphones, camera, etc.) • Assist with special events setup - Load and unload trucks - Help set up photo backdrops - Help set up event signage • Anything else asked by manager • To be considered for this position, all applicants must submit a resume and display their work in a demo reel, YouTube page, portfolio or similar form that shows the knowledge learned to this point. Physical Statement This position requires frequent movement throughout various locations, both indoor and outdoor, including standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods of time. The role also involves transporting and setting up video, audio, and lighting equipment, with individual items weighing up to 40 pounds.
