DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION & SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Publish and optimize videos across Kitco platforms and third-party channels (e.g., YouTube, Rumble, TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn), including descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and platform-specific formatting.
  • Create and implement social media strategies to maximize video reach across all platforms, understanding each platform’s unique algorithm and audience behavior.
  • Develop platform-specific content variations (e.g., vertical videos for TikTok/Reels, short clips for Twitter/X, professional cuts for LinkedIn).
  • Monitor real-time analytics across all platforms; adjust line-ups, formats, and posting schedules to maximize reach and retention.
  • Collaborate with the social media team to adapt video clips for each platform and drive engagement through strategic hashtags, captions, and community management.
  • Track trending topics and viral formats to inform content creation and capitalize on social media moments.
  • Implement A/B testing strategies for thumbnails, titles, and posting times to optimize performance.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESCORE REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid background in finance, business, or commodities news; digital video experience is essential.
  • Three+ years of producing, writing, or news gathering in a broadcast or digital newsroom.
  • Mastery of writing, copy editing, and headline crafting (AP Style).
  • Strong CMS and non-linear video editing skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work quickly and under deadline pressure.
  • Sharp editorial judgment and the agility to pivot during breaking news.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Advanced video editing proficiency (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent).
  • Experience with motion graphics and basic animation (After Effects is a plus).
  • Familiarity with streaming software (OBS, Wirecast, or similar).
  • Understanding of video codecs, compression, and platform-specific technical requirements.
  • Basic photography and audio recording skills.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)

  • Experience with data visualization and infographic creation.
  • Knowledge of podcast production and audio editing.
  • Certification in Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms.
  • Experience with influencer partnerships and collaborative content.
  • Understanding of paid social media promotion and advertising.
  • Background in financial analysis or trading.
    Professional-level daily communication, both spoken and written, in English with international guests, including correspondence regarding logistics (lighting, setup), research, and preparation of interview content, as well as regular interactions with peers located outside of Quebec.

Kitco News’ mission is to empower investors with accurate, unbiased, round-the-clock coverage and expert analysis of global markets.
Reporting to the Media Director, the Video News Producer drives the planning, creation, and delivery of all Kitco News video content. You own the production schedule, coordinate talent and resources, and ensure every segment meets Kitco’s editorial standards and audience goals. This role requires a strong blend of traditional journalism skills and modern digital media expertise, with a particular emphasis on social media strategy and audience engagement.
Although the position is producer-focused, you may occasionally anchor or conduct on-camera interviews when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:Production & Editorial

  • Act as gatekeeper of the News & Commentaries video production calendar, working closely with anchors, commentators, editors, and designers.
  • Develop and maintain a broad network of financiers, analysts, policymakers, mining executives, and industry experts for interviews.
  • Lead pre-production: draft rundowns, research topics, write interview questions, and secure graphics and data.
  • Oversee production day logistics, including studio, remote feeds, call sheets, and technical checks with the video production team.
  • Edit video, copy, headlines, and metadata for clarity, SEO, brand, legal compliance, and style.
  • Maintain a contingency plan for breaking news and ensure rapid content turnaround.
  • Manage media conference coverage: plan interviews, coordinate travel, oversee booths/graphics, and execute sponsorship deliverables.
