Video Surveillance and SSM- Store Security Monitoring team play a crucial role in security operations. They are dedicated, extremely detail-oriented, and effective communicators, collaborating closely with colleagues and supervisors to deliver top-quality surveillance services. Their responsibilities include managing video motion alarm activities and taking appropriate action according to established protocols. This involves monitoring security systems on-site, conducting video surveillance, and making outbound calls to dispatch Security Guards or contact Police and Fire Departments in response to alarms.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School, College Diploma
  • Post secondary education in criminology or a suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in video surveillance, alarm monitoring and at least 1 year of team leader or shift responsible experience
  • Have a clean criminal record
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with experience handling difficult cases
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Perfect computer skills, especially camera system, video surveillance, VMS, alarm monitoring and reporting platforms
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Ability to operate individually as well as in a team.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for monitor certain number of locations, store, surveillance cameras and video alarm notifications along night shift (10pm-8am).
  • Identify, record, document and report suspicious activity such as theft, trespassing, intrusion, unauthorized entry, property damage, vagrant, loitering, piggy backing, tailgating.
  • Use 2-way audio and video equipment to warn intruders off while live crime in progress.
  • In case of emergency, dispatching of calls to on-site security guard, mobile security guard. and other proper contacts (911, owner, property manager, emergency contacts) on time.
  • Handling calls and emails receive from the manager, other team, clients, store team regarding incidents on site, emergency, vagrant, noise complaint.
  • Leading a team (4-6 members) along night shift (10pm-8am).
  • Builds strong working relationship among night shifts members.
  • Provide directions and distribute assignments to monitoring agents to handle various locations, video monitoring, alarms handling, and phone calls based on current activity and staffing levels.
  • Ensures all monitoring agents aware of updated protocols, SOW, SLA and preparing SOP, other procedural documents and review these with team members regularly, modify if needed.
  • Periodically verify VMS (Video Management System), monitoring equipment, software function properly and notify management of any issues, concerns with equipment and setup.
  • Regular check and review to each location together with other monitoring agents, to verify security concerns and correct cameras are selected.
  • Follow up team member breaks throughout the shift.
  • Ensures recording all activities, logs, and necessary reports properly and timely along the shift.
  • Build and retain a high-performance development team by training and retaining all staff in accordance with the company policies.
  • Help to identify gaps across staff and help recruit and onboard new members, build and maintain high-performing teams.
  • Communicates effectively with all the locations and related customer, store team and internal departments.
  • Providing solution to complaints and escalate to senior management with appropriate follow-up procedure to ensure resolution of the issue.
