Description

OBJECTIVE

The Ontario NDP Caucus is seeking a skilled and creative Videographer and Editor to join our communications team. This role supports the Leader and MPPs by producing high-quality, engaging video and photographic content that communicates our priorities and connects with Ontarians across platforms including YouTube, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, creation, and delivery of compelling multimedia content. This includes coverage from the Legislature, press events, community activities, the Leader’s Tour, and broader caucus initiatives — all aligned with our strategic communications goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive recent experience as a videographer, photographer, and editor — particularly in digital content production.

  • Strong background in pre- and post-production workflows including video editing, storyboarding, digital imaging, photo editing, and storytelling through graphics and visuals.
  • Proficiency with non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and/or DaVinci Resolve; familiarity with Final Cut Pro is an asset.
  • Experience with professional video and photography equipment (e.g., Canon C300 MKII, DSLR 5D Mark IV, various lenses) and a solid understanding of lighting, audio, and production gear.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality visuals in dynamic and high-attendance environments.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience managing and cataloging media assets and digital files.
  • Knowledge of Ontario politics, the legislative process, and the NDP’s priorities is an asset.
  • Experience working in political, campaign, or advocacy settings is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel throughout Ontario as required.
  • Familiarity with equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression frameworks.
  • Photography, motion graphics, and animation skills are assets.
  • Second language skills (especially French) are an asset.

    • Must be prepared to use personal equipment in combination with organizational gear.
The NDP Caucus is an equal opportunity employer. Accommodations for job applicants with disabilities are available on request.
