Description

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The American Immigration Council (the Council) seeks an experienced videographer or video production team to help produce a series of three original immigrant stories, combining short-form video and still images, optimized for Instagram and related digital platforms.
This project is supported by Ford Foundation, Unbound, and the Haas Foundation—foundations committed to elevating immigrant voices and challenging harmful narratives particularly in the context of the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda. Together, we aim to humanize the experiences of people impacted by Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda and shift the cultural narrative around immigration by countering misinformation and showcasing immigrant experiences in a relatable manner across diverse sectors. These stories spark empathy , mobilizing audiences that have tuned out traditional media outlets and plant a seed of skepticism on the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda.
We are looking for creative collaborators who can craft visually compelling, emotionally resonant stories in partnership with our communications and narrative strategy teams.

PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS

Please include the following in your submission:

  • Cover letter explaining your interest and approach to ethical, story-driven video production.
  • Portfolio with 2–4 examples of relevant video work (e.g., documentary, short-form social content, first-person narratives).
  • Bio/Company Overview, including any collaborators or subcontractors.
  • Proposed vision and strategy, including an outline of themes or a unifying narrative you propose. Share how you would highlight that theme into each short film, including through specific storytelling or film techniques.
  • Preliminary budget and fee structure per story.
  • Timeline availability between Fall 2025 and Winter 2027.
  • Influencers and outlets you’ve worked with in the past
  • References from previous clients or collaborators (optional but preferred).
