VIE-GERMANY - MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING FOR MECHANICAL SYSTEM INSTALLATION (D/F/M)

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our mechanical system technology team in Hamburg as a VIE.
You will join the Manufacturing Engineering department, a transnational organisation with specific focus on mechanical technologies and responsible for the definition of mechanical system installation processes which are applied in all commercial Airbus aircraft programs.
As Airbus Process Technology Leader (APTL) in the technical field of mechanical system installation (MSI) we’re leading a transnational network of members located in the plants & FALs to create projects portfolio and to deliver harmonized processes and technologies in Airbus.
This VIE position offers an exciting opportunity to work on this APT network coordination, on improvement projects and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and transnational environment.

DEFINITION VIE

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in (Aeronautical) Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Applied Sciences or a related discipline.
  • First practical experience in the field of Project Management is desirable.
  • You are able to understand technical complexities.
  • You have excellent communication and facilitation skills and ability to work in a team.
  • You feel comfortable working across functions, in international teams and environments, and influencing and persuading stakeholders amid conflicting priorities
  • You master typical Google applications.
  • You have a very good command of English (written and spoken).
  • German language skills would be beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • You will prepare and facilitate meetings and support preparation of project milestones.
  • You will maintain the project’s action register and drive the timely closure of actions.
  • You will coordinate the preparation of reports in various formats for both internal and external customers.
  • You will maintain the project’s integrated plan in the appropriate toolset, embedding inputs from all contributing stakeholders.
  • You will propose, support and promote the development of the APT network.
  • You will launch best practice exercise to identify adoptable way of working from other APT networks.
  • You will prepare and coordinate on-site workshops with the full MSI APT network.
    This role will involve some travel for business once per quarter in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
