The Role
Located in Cromer, Dee Why Gardens offers a vibrant community comprising both Serviced Apartments and Independent Living Units (no Residential Aged Care). Our residents are independent seniors who enjoy the company and safety of living in a community of like-minded individuals, with the reassurance of services provided should the need arise.
Our lovely team at Dee Why Gardens are currently seeking a Village Engagement Assistant to join them on a casual basis.
Shifts
This role will be on an on-call basis and will primarily involve working weekends, afternoon shifts combined with sleepover shifts. Additional assistance will be required for leave coverage.

Reporting to the Assistant Village Manager, your duties will include:

  • Responding to resident enquiries, callouts, and wellbeing checks on residents
  • Undertaking first aid and initiating emergency services where required
  • Assisting with our colourful village events and resident engagement activities
  • Assisting with administrative tasks and improvement projects

About You

  • You have basic computer and administrative skills
  • You are empathetic, passionate about helping others, and enjoy working with both your team and clients
  • You are naturally detail-oriented with excellent organisational abilities
  • You are proactive, always looking to improve services, client satisfaction, and team efficiency
  • You have strong decision-making skills and are calm under pressure
  • You hold a current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • You are prompt, diligent, and reliable

The successful candidate will be providing customer service, comfort, and support to our residents when they need it most. You will be welcomed with lush green gardens and an inviting award-winning community centre, café, and restaurant, along with our lovely residents who love the engagement, fun and support that the village team brings daily.
