Description

The Village of Mendon is seeking a part-time Payables and Utilities clerk to handle the day to day activities of the Village, especially as it relates to the Payables and the Water/Sewer billings. This individual should have strong experience in bookkeeping and customer service and be capable of learning the utilities billing process and other clerical tasks.

Duties:

  • Handle the recording and submission of the Payables.
  • Perform the monthly Utility Billing process for the Water and Sewer systems.
  • Assist in Payroll, receivables, or other bookkeeping items to cover absences or vacations, etc.
  • Collect Water/Sewer Payments
  • Tend to the Village Hall front desk to assist in various tasks
  • Provide Permits, forms, applications, and other items to residents as needed.
  • Take other messages or requests for the Manager or Council
  • Perform clerical work to assist the Clerk Official in maintaining the official records, such as posting or publishing documents, making copies, creating official documents, website administration, etc.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Bookkeeping required
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Municipal government experience preferred (BS&A accounting software)
