Description

The Porter will work under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor assisting in the maintenance of a privatized student housing facility. The facility may include all or some of the following components: offices, resident rooms, laundry facilities, swimming pool, study lounges, parking areas, gym and/or an activity center/community room/clubhouse. Maintenance Activities * Assists in performing daily tasks which will maintain the curb appeal of the facility. * Daily pick-up of exterior community grounds. * Daily trash removal as directed. * Housekeeping duties in all areas, as directed, which will include dusting, vacuuming, washing windows, cleaning and replacing lights as needed, mopping, etc. * Periodically will be requested to complete specific tasks as directed by Management such as waxing or buffing tile floors, spot cleaning furniture and carpets, etc. * During performance of duties, notes and reports items to Management requiring repair or any suspicious or unlawful items around the facility (for example, firearms, lounge furniture in resident’s unit, etc.). * Other duties as assigned. Technical Skills * Completes assigned task with minimal supervision. * Communicates effectively and tactfully with co-workers and residents of the facility with a positive attitude and strong customer service orientation. Experience * Minimum of two (2) years previous experience as a maid/ porter in in multi-family or privatized student housing, preferred, not required. Qualifications * High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

The Porter assists in maintaining the curb appeal of the facility through daily tasks such as trash removal and housekeeping duties. They also report any items requiring repair or suspicious activities to management.
