Job Description The Compounding Operator in Training will work in a high volume compounding department to support production of the F5 line. This role will compound organics using a variety of materials to support a 24/7 operation. Flexibility is required. The Compounding Operator may be expected to work additional overtime to meet production demands. In this role, you will work 2PM-10PM, Mon-Fri. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: Activities and duties may vary dependent upon site specific needs and daily work assignments. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: Practice all environmental, health and safety procedures, practices and policies. Review and follow compounding schedule per requirements. Stage materials for base compounding to support F5. Load raw materials and set up machines, requiring a high level of precision. Adjust setup and process operations accordingly. Accurately compound raw material batches while ensuring adherence to production / process specifications or instructions. Perform tests and check product routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with established procedure. Keep compounding area clean. Accurately complete batch sheet report and other production records or logs. Perform general maintenance (PMs) and safety checklists as required to ensure effective operations. Responsible for labeling, handling, and transporting of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste. Communicate effectively with team members and staff. Understand and implement all quality standard procedures related to role and responsibilities in assigned areas. Qualifications Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience Must demonstrate learning ability and capability to operate multiple equipment Solid math skills required. Strong attention to detail. Must be able to follow written and oral instruction. Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures. Strong service and quality focus required; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand the root cause, then communicate / educate the team in a timely manner. Must be able to actively contribute in a team based, collaborative environment; encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal. Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to cross-train and sustain acquired skills. Must demonstrate the willingness and ability to train others in the processes, if and when required Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus. Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests. Proficiency with computer applications; strong Oracle transactional skills. Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs. Preferred Requirements: 1-3 years of experience in a Compounding, Coating, or other similar chemical manufacturing position. Previous forklift experience and certification. Experience reading scales and working with pumps and flow meters.
