Job Summary: The Assistant Supervisor reports directly to the Vinyl Fabrication Supervisor. The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for achieving immediate and short-term production objectives laid down by their supervisor. This position requires near perfect attendance and punctuality. The Assistant Supervisor is expected to be in their department area before the shift starts. Reasonable overtime hours may be required in order to meet production needs. Supervisory Responsibilities: Serves as assistant supervisor for Building #2 of the Vinyl Fabrication Department. Involves training personnel, assisting with disciplinary actions, preparing performance reviews, giving clear instructions, and motivating team members. FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Lead daily manufacturing operations within the building to meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. Assign work, monitor progress, and adjust staffing or workflow to maintain optimal efficiency. Coordinate with management and maintenance team to ensure materials and equipment availability. Supervise, train, and mentor production employees; assist with performance reviews and corrective actions when necessary. Promote a positive, collaborative work environment with strong communication and accountability. Ensure team adherence to company values, policies, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Monitor in-process product quality and implement corrective actions to prevent defects or rework. Enforce compliance with company safety standards and PPE requirements through regular inspections and team coaching. Read and understand complex sketches; work with CAD department to modify plans as needed. Responsible for care and preventive maintenance of equipment used by the department. Responsible for housekeeping within the department and the entire facility. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities: Team Player Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks Ability to read and understand complex sketches Forklift certified Ability to efficiently operate all tools and equipment used within the department Proficient in math, both decimal and inch calculations Ability to follow company safety procedures and processes Proficient with basic computer tasks such as using email, reviewing electronic timecards and operating a printer. Must have exemplary attendance and disciplinary records. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing experience required; experience in Vinyl Fabrication department preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Physical Demands: Must be able to accurately exchange information with co-workers and management. Heavy lifting (50lbs) is required on a regular basis. Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials. Ability to remain at workstation for long periods of time while using tools and machinery and performing repetitive actions. Manual dexterity to evaluate, modify and operate machinery and equipment. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced. Temperature of work environment ranges from 15 - 110°F. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours subject to change at the discretion of management. Weekends, nights and overtime may be required to support production goals.
