Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter patient demographic and clinical data into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Review and verify data for completeness and accuracy before entry.
  • Update patient records as necessary, ensuring all information is current and correctly filed.
  • Assist in the retrieval of patient information and documents as requested by healthcare staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve data discrepancies and improve data quality.
  • Support the preparation of reports and data summaries as required.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to improve data entry skills and knowledge of hospital systems.
  • Perform routine audits of data entry processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist in other clerical duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health information technology or related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in data entry, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Proficient in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
