ABOUT UMC HIGH SCHOOL & THE VHS PROGRAM

UMC High School offers an innovative Virtual High School (VHS) Program — a self-paced, flexible online learning experience designed to support students.
We are seeking passionate, student-centered Virtual High School Teachers to join our remote teaching team. This is a part-time, 1-year contract role with flexibility and global impact — ideal for educators who value independence, collaboration, and modern learning models.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree (education or subject-area related field)
  • Prior teaching or mentoring experience, preferably with high school students
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
  • Stable internet connection and access to Zoom and digital platforms

Responsibilities

Teaching & Student Support

  • Respond to student inquiries via email in a clear and timely manner
  • Monitor student progress and provide academic guidance and encouragement
  • Assist students in navigating course material and overcoming academic challenges
  • Refer students to support teams (counselors, marketers) when appropriate

Orientation & Onboarding (Support Role)

  • Collaborate with regional marketers who lead weekly live orientation sessions for new students
  • Contribute feedback and insights to improve onboarding processes and materials
  • Remain available to support new students with academic follow-up after orientation
