This opportunity seeks qualified professionals to provide specialized educational support for students with visual impairments in a K-12 school setting. The role involves delivering tailored instruction and resources that address the unique learning needs of visually impaired students, promoting their academic and functional independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) focusing on visual impairment.
  • Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technology to facilitate learning.
  • Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families to support student progress.
  • Conduct assessments related to visual function and educational impact.
  • Provide training and guidance on visual impairment to school personnel and caregivers.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments or equivalent credentials.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.
  • Strong knowledge of Braille instruction, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology tools.
  • Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job Details:

  • Contract position covering the current school year (CSY).
